Thank you Shayla, for letting me borrow the fairy princess hat. Thank you Svetlana, for showing up. Thank you Mascara, for inviting us.
Okay, we were guests at the show, which was billed as "avant garde" .. "genre defying" (which we're not) We tried to appear more alternative by wearing unconventional hats, but I don't think anyone fell for it. It went well, though, aside from the fact that I kept unplugging myself. It was because, somehow, I put the tuner BEHIND ME on the floor, between my feet. Nice. I was setting everything up in such a hurry, because I was more concerned about being a polite guest, and getting on/off according to schedule. I was trying to be courteous, but I'm sure that little phase will pass. Oh ..and the microphone kept tipping down during the songs, and I kept bending down to follow it while I was singing, which was fun. It felt like an episode of "I Love Lucy". Oh ..and a guitar string broke, which was odd, since that's never happened even once at practice. According to David, the strings "know it's a gig" and will break accordingly. I'd never heard of that before, and it definitely DIDN'T say that on the box when I bought them.
Svetlana made it there, which was cool. On the way, she got pulled over by the police, but they only gave her a warning, cause she's a hottie. She brought her mom along, who, incidently, is also hot (funny how that stuff works)
The food upstairs at The Cambridge Common is supposed to be really good. I didn't order a damn thing, which was, by far, my biggest mishap of the night. I don't know what the hell I was thinking. Ask Dave. ..about how good the food is.. not about what I was thinking.
